On June 21, 2021, CCE submitted a statement to the Committee on Government Operations and Facilities of the Council of the District of Columbia for the Budget Oversight Hearing for the Office of Human Rights. 

On June 14, 2021, CCE's Policy Counsel Sosseh Prom testified before the Council of the District of Columbia at the Budget Oversight Hearing for the Office of Administrative Hearings. 

On June 11, 2021, CCE's Communications Manager Casey Anderson testified before Council of the District of Columbia at the Budget Oversight Hearing for the Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants.

On June 10, 2021, CCE's Deputy DIrector Emily Tatro testified before the Council of the District of Columbia at the Budget Oversight Hearing for the District Department of Transportation.

On June 4, 2021, CCE's Executive Director testified before the Committee on Health of the Council of the District of Columbia at the Budget Oversight Hearing for the D.C. Department of Behavioral Health.

On May 6, 2021, CCE Board leader Jon Jeffress and CCE staff Casey Anderson testified before the Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety of the Council of the District of Columbia at the Public Oversight Roundtable on Local Control of Parole in the District of Columbia.

Comments submitted by the CCE in response to the District Court of Appeals Notice No. 274-21, relating to public access to court electronic records. 

In April, CCE, Bread for the City, the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center, Legal Counsel for the Elderly, Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia, Neighborhood Legal Services Program, Washington Council of Lawyers, and Rising for Justice sent comments on the initial filing fee for landlord-tenant action. 

On April 8, 2021 CCE Board leader Jon Jeffress and CCE's Deputy Director Emily Tatro testified before the Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety of the Council of the District of Columbia at the public hearing on B24-0063, the “Second Chance Amendment Act of 2021” and B24-0110, the “Criminal Record Expungement Amendment Act of 2021.”

CCE's Casey Anderson testified before the Committee on Housing and Executive Administration of the Council of the District of Columbia at the Performance Oversight Hearing for the Executive Office of the Mayor regarding D.C.'s Clemency Board.
