The Council for Court Excellence is pleased to present its Compliments and Complaints Guide. This guide gathers in one place information about how to submit compliments or comments and how to make and resolve complaints about any professional in the DC justice system. The information in this guide comes from sixteen courts and agencies in the District that provided details about their compliment and complaint referral process.
On December 15, 2022, the Council for Court Excellence sent a sign on letter bosting more than 60 signatures to Senators Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer calling for them to hold a full Senate vote to confirm outstanding judicial vacancies at the D.C. Courts.
On Thursday, December 8, 2022, the Council for Court Excellence sent a letter to Senators Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell calling on them to bring the 8 pending D.C. Court nominees to a floor vote. The letter outlines the significant impacts of this judicial vacancy crisis on the residents of the District and the unsustainable workloads on our current judges.
On November 3, 2022, CCE submitted testimony for the record in support of B24-0946, the Eliminating Restrictive and Segregated Enclosures (“ERASE”) Solitary Confinement Act of 2022.
On October 13, 2022, CCE Board leader and Criminal Justice Committee Co-Chair Olinda Moyd and Policy & Communications Manager Casey Anderson testified before the Committee on Government Operations of the Council of the DIstrict of Columbia in support of B24-0865, the Commission on Re-Entry Services for Women Amendment Act of 2022.
On April 8, 2022, CCE's Deputy Director Emily Tatro testified before the Committee of the Whole of the Council of the District of Columbia at the Budget Oversight Hearing for the Fiscal Year 2023 Local Budget Act of 2022, Fiscal Year 2023 Federal Portion Budget Request Act of 2022, Fiscal Year 2023 Budget Support Act of 2022, and the Fiscal Year 2022 Revised Local Budget Emergency Adjustment Act of 2021.
On April 7, 2022, CCE's Policy & Communications Manager Casey Anderson testified before the Committee on Government Operations of the Council of the District of Columbia at the Budget Oversight Hearing for the Executive Office of the Mayor.
