Hillary Evans joins CCE staff as Policy Analyst

Join us in extending a warm welcome to CCE’s newest team member, Hillary Evans! Hillary is CCE’s Policy Analyst, leading our mission in the areas of Children in the Courts, Public Service, and Access to Justice.

Hillary joined CCE at the start of this calendar year, jumping right into work with a busy schedule of classroom visits for the high season of our School Jury Education Project. She will also be at the helm of board-led efforts in the areas of child welfare, foster care and custody, juvenile justice, and publications and community education.

“I am so excited to be a part of CCE’s mission,” Hillary said. “Our organization makes a difference in the lives of all DC residents, and I look forward to building on my past work in victims’ rights, civil justice, and access to justice.”

Before joining CCE, Hillary worked with the National Legal Aid and Defender Association (NLADA), where she engaged in policy and legislative advocacy on behalf of legal services for low income people. Prior to NLADA, she was a law clerk with the Appellate Review Division of the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and voter protection advocate at the Advancement Project. During law school, Hillary interned for the Honorable Inez Smith Reid in the DC Court of Appeals and with the Honorable Odessa Vincent in the Family Court Division of DC Superior Court. She also interned with several federal agencies and the US Senate as a law clerk for Senator Edward M. Kennedy on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Hillary received her law degree from Howard University after completing her Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary. She received her nonprofit executive management certificate from the Georgetown University Public Policy Institute.

Hillary stays active in the DC community as a board member for the Network for Victim Recovery of DC.

She is the proud mother of 19-month-old daughter Isabel. Along with her husband Carlos, a federal government attorney, the family lives in Northeast DC.

You can always reach Hillary at the CCE office by email, or 202-785-5917.

CCE warmly welcomes Hillary!
