 Meet the Next Chief Judge
of the Superior Court of the
District of Columbia

Please join CCE and our distinguished co-sponsors for “Meet the Next Chief Judge,” a forum for members of the public to hear from the judges who have applied to become the new Chief Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, following the retirement of the Honorable Robert E. Morin, as Chief Judge on September 30, 2020.Karen E. Evans, a partner at The Cochran Firm and CCE Board Director, will serve as the forum's moderator.

The District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission will select the next Chief Judge of the Superior Court from among the following judges, all of whom have agreed to participate in the forum: 

Hon. Anita Josey-Herring   -   Hon. Milton Lee, Jr.   -   Hon. Lynn Leibovitz 

This special event will be held virtually on June 9 as a Zoom webinar, generously hosted by the D.C. Bar. Despite the modified format, we are confident that this forum will remain an invaluable opportunity for members of the D.C. community to learn more about the priorities and approaches of the Chief Judge candidates prior to the June 19 deadline for submitting public comments to the D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission.

The Council for Court Excellence does not make endorsements. The forum’s co-sponsors have agreed not to make endorsements until after the forum. The Commission and the Court took no part in organizing the forum.
