HONORING
Dean Katherine S. Broderick
UDC David A. Clarke School of Law
Dean Broderick has been a faculty member at UDC Law since 1979 and was appointed dean in 1999. She has committed her entire career to increasing the quantity, improving the quality, and coordinating the delivery of legal services to low-income D.C. residents. In January 2018, Dean Broderick announced that she would step down from the Dean position and return to the UDC faculty after a sabbatical.
Karen Barker Marcou
DC Volunteer Lawyers Project
DCVLP provides legal services to victims of domestic violence and at-risk children. Ms. Marcou has dedicated her entire career to serving people in need and has grown the DCVLP program; it currently supports 250 active volunteers who dedicated 17,000 hours of pro bono services to clients last year. Prior to co-founding DCVLP in 2008, Ms. Marcou was an attorney at Neighborhood Legal Services Program.
Patrick McGlone

Mr. McGlone's history of service to the community, the courts, and the legal profession extends more than thirty years. Through his leadership and his personal commitments, he has boosted pro bono efforts by in-house counsel for the benefit of people in poverty. A former Vice President of CCE, Mr. McGlone has been a longtime champion on the independence of the judiciary; equal opportunity for diverse lawyers; and support for legal aid organizations.
